BETA Driver for MACBOOK laptops (v0.9b Driver for Video Output for USB docking stations)

IMPORTANT: This is a beta version, there are outstanding bugs (see note to users) and neither Technical Support nor Customer Service will be able to provide support with the driver installation and functions. Please download the user guide before installing the driver.

Computer Requirements: Mac OSX Tiger 10.4.11 and Leopard higher 10.5.2. Intel-based Apple computers including Mac Mini (Intel), iMac (Intel), MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Pro.

Supported Docking Models: 33367, 33415, 33907

Description:
This is a beta version of the driver necessary to enable the video output of the docking station and the dual monitor adapter when connected to a MAC computer. See supported docking station models below. Being a beta version, there are outstanding bugs (see note to users) and neither Technical Support nor Customer Service will be able to provide support for beta driver issues.

Beta Driver (v0.9b). Important Note to Users:

  • It is recommended to use the External Screen connected to our dock as a secondary display (dual view mode)
  • Among outstanding bugs are:
    1. Disconnecting the dock will wake up your machine from sleep mode
    2. DVD player will not work on external screen (video will be forced to play on notebook screen)
    3. Presentation mode of software application will not work on the external screen (like keynote full screen presentation, iphoto slideshow, Front Row)
    4. Video Responsiveness of connected external screen will be reduced. But still acceptable for everyday computing

    Installation Instructions:

    A reboot of the machine is required to complete the driver upgrade. Close all the open applications saving your data before proceeding to the installation of the new driver.

    1. Disconnect the docking station from your system.
    2. Download the file and store it onto your hard disk drive.
    3. Launch the displaylink installer by double-clicking the installer.
    4. Once the installation is completed reboot the system if requested.
    5. After the machine reboots connect the docking station to one of the USB ports of your system to complete the installation of the drivers.

    Notebook Expansion Dock with Video (33367) & sd200v Notebook Docking Station with Video (33415) & Dual Monitor Adapter (33907) – Driver for Video Output (version release 4.3 - 8838)

    Requirements:
    Windows® XP, Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 2 (recommended) Windows Vista™ (see notes)

    Description:
    This is a new version of the driver necessary to enable the video output of the docking station and the dual monitor adapter. This is a major upgrade for users running Windows VISTA.

    Instructions:

    1. Disconnect the docking station from your system.
    2. Download the file and store it onto your hard disk drive.
    3. Click on the .zip file and use the "Browse" button to specify where you wish to extract and save the setup file to. Click the "Unzip" button to extract the setup file.
    4. Go in the directory you specified in step 2. and launch the setup application by double clicking on the "Setup" file.
    5. Once the installation is completed reboot the system if requested.
    6. After the machine reboots connect the docking station to one of the USB ports of your system to complete the installation of the drivers: for Microsoft Vista™ a second reboot may be necessary to activate the video connected to the docking station.

    Notes to users with version 3.x:

    › To verify the revision of the SW driver select Start / Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs. Look for USB Display Adapter or Kensington Display Adapter and click on "Click here for support information" to retrieve the version of the driver.
    › To uninstall the driver 3.x go to Control Panel / Add - Remove Programs and identify the USB Display Adapter: select the USB Display Adapter and click "Remove".


    sd100 Notebook docking station (33419) USB to Ethernet Drivers

    Requirements:
    Windows® XP or Windows Vista™

    Description:
    This is the driver for Windows XP (32bit and 64bit) for the USB Ethernet function provided through the sd100 Notebook docking station (33419).


    Instructions for the Windows® XP Version:

    1. Disconnect the docking station from your laptop.
    2. Download the file and store it onto your hard disk drive.
    3. Click on the .zip file and use the "Browse" button to specify where you wish to extract and save the driver files to. Click the "Unzip" button to extract the driver files.
    4. Connect the Kensington Docking Station to a USB port of your laptop.
    5. When prompted by the "Found new hardware wizard", select the second option "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) and select the directory specified in the point 3.

    1. Disconnect the docking station from your laptop.

    3. Click on the .zip file and use the "Browse" button to specify where you wish to extract and save the driver files to. Click the "Unzip" button to extract the driver files.
    4. Connect the Kensington Docking Station to a USB port of your laptop.
    5. When prompted by the "Found new hardware" message, select "Locate and install driver software (recommended)". Choose the option "Don't search online". Click Next when the message "I don't have the disk. Show me other options". Select the option "Browse my computer for driver software (advanced)" and select the directory specified in the point 3.



    USB to Serial & USB to Ethernet Drivers

    Requirements:
    Windows VISTA

    Description:
    These drivers are available through Microsoft update and will be automatically installed on your laptop when you connect the 1500325, 1500326, 33243, 33240, 1500323, 1500324, 60703, 60705, 33367GB or 33367EU docking station to a USB port or your laptop. Detailed Instructions are available below. These drivers are software that allows the Ethernet and Serial ports of your docking station to work.

    Instructions:

    1. Ensure your laptop is connected to the Internet.
    2. Connect the Kensington Docking Station to a USB port of your laptop.
    3. When prompted by the "Found new hardware wizard", select the first option - "Locate and install driver software (recommended)".
    4. Your laptop will be searching Windows Update for latest drivers. Driver will be automatically downloaded and installed.
    5. You might be prompted to Restart your computer.

    5.1 USB Audio Driver

    Requirements:
    Windows VISTA

    Description:
    This driver allows the 5.1 audio ports of the 1500325, 1500326, 33243, 33240, 1500323, 1500324, 60703, 60705 or docking station to work.
    Note: The native audio driver provided by VISTA that may have been installed when you first connected the docking station to your laptop does not work with our dock.

    Instructions:

    1. Download the zip file (5.1 Audio Driver for VISTA.zip) and store it on your hard drive
    2. Unzip the content onto a folder.
    3. Double-Click on the "setup.exe" (you need to have administrator's right on your laptop)
    4. Click Allow when prompted to continue the driver installation.
    5. Restart the PC when prompted.
    6. Download the audio setup instructions ("configuring_speakers.pdf") if you are going to connect a 5.1 speakers system to the dock.

    Kensington Notebook Expansion Dock with Video Rev. 4.1.6278.0

    Requirements:

    Description:
    This is a new version of the software driver of the Kensington Notebook Expansion Dock with Video for the USB VGA display adapter (33367GB/33367EU).

    Instructions:

    IMPORTANT: users with version 3.x MUST uninstall the 3.x driver before installing this release. Previous drivers will not be automatically uninstalled by this driver update.

    To uninstall the driver go to Control Panel / Add - Remove Programs and identify the USB Display Adapter: select the USB Display Adapter and click "Remove".

    Notes:

    › Includes support for Windows Vista ™: this release supports Clone mode only under Windows Vista™; Using the docking station will require the system to switch to the Windows Basic Theme for the user interface. If the Vista Aero Glass setting is available in your laptop it will change to Windows Basic Theme when the dock is connected. The Vista Aero Glass mode is restored once the laptop is disconnected from the docking station.

    › Provides improved performance and stability from previous driver version 3.7.2.0.

    › Provides user interface in the tools tray to configure the external monitor easier.
